Colonel,
Do you hear this sound when outside the vehicle?
I had trouble with the exhaust heat shield making the same noise. You can see the heat shield when looking between the cab and bed.

My 99 cc had a rattle that I thought was in the back of the cab. It turned out to be the links on the rear sway bar. tightened up the bolts on the links and the rattle went away.

Thanks for the tips..

the noise is 5X5 from the outside. I rode in the bed, the noise seemed to comming from the location of the rear cab vents. It didn't take a large bump to make the rattle. and it seems to occur/to be worse when warm outside (since I live in Alabama, warm is an understatement this time of the year!) Removed the rear seats and noticed the rear pannel, when thumped, made a noise that sounded similar.

I did check the exhaust heat shields...they appear to be tight...I'll check the links tonight.

Any tips for removing the rear trim pannel...fastened with clips?

I love the truck, but the rattle is driving me bonkers... and I really don't want to take it to the dealer and have it mucked up

thanks

What about the jack, and spare tire rod? It is under the rear passenger seat. It was constantly making noise on my new truck until I fastened it down tight.
