Hi I have a 98 CC. I am trying to figure out the AC.
On previous cars there was a button to turn on the AC. I could set the controls to any setting (defrost, floor, etc) without the AC on.
The Dakota has a little snow flake(?)on the air control and I assume that is where the AC will be on.
My manual shows 3 positions with the snow flake but my Dakota has only 2. I think the AC is working in the 3 postion too.
I don't see much difference in power loss so it it hard to tell it is on.

Hey Jon I have the same control on my 99, Ac is ingaged on low and high snow flake, also I notice it works on The upper/lower blend (ac upper and heat lower) it also is on in both defrost modes. Hope this helps... Mike
