does anyone know what kind of material is this made out of, i heard its made out of metal, isnt that bad? doesnt it make the air hot, which will defeat the purpose of an air intake?

It's powder coated aluminum. It doesn't heat up fast and it cools down fast. I have one of there intakes for the 4.7L and am satisfied with it.

true about the K&N filter, but isnt the KN made out of plastic which conducts less heat and will perform better than a metal tube?

The K&N system is more expensive than the 360 and the difference might be 1h.p. Who knows. The difference won't be anything you'll notice either way

360AirIntakez recently upgraded the tubing they're using - I don't know the specifics of the metal, but he also powdercoats them (I watched him build mine). I have one of these intakes, and it performs great on my R/T. I don't have to worry about it melting/distorting in the Las Vegas summer heat, and I won't need to have it replaced every six months like the defective Mopar/K&N FIPK kits.

People were having a problem with the intake tube cracking on the FIPK kits. Not sure if they solved the problem or not.
