Subject: Advice on buying an R/T

I am seriously looking into buying a Dakota R/T and I was wondering if there is anything specific mechanical-wise I should be looking for when checking out these trucks. Are there any common probelms with them that I should look or listen for? What is the major maintenence that needs to be done on them? Thanks.

I own an '01 R/T CC. I love it. It's the best car/truck i've ever owned. The only problem I've had with mine is the torque converter dosn't stay locked up very well. It seems to slip a little. Ihavn't taken it to the dealer to look at yet though. Oh, by the way, you'll probably go through rear tires too. It's really easy to light em up, an i love letting the rear end hang out on the turns. Oh well. Good luck!

Thanks Petey, I'm sure I will go through tires like no other. I'm currently working on selling my Stealth R/T, and as soon as I sell that I'm going to look for a R/T. I need a truck badly, but I still wanna be able to go fast so I figured a R/T or a Lightning would be the only choices. But, I'm pretty set on the Dakota.

I'd like to see what the lightning would do against an R/T without that supercharger. And I am gonna find out for myself what a supercharged R/T with 450+hp will do to the ego of a Lightning owner....hehehe
