Just to confuse things, take a look at the Yokohama AVS S/T tires. I had those on my Ram and they rocked. Good grip and super handling. They were decent in the rain too, where I've heard the Nittos are lacking.

Or, if price is a factor, try ti find the 255/55/17 Kumho ECSTA 711'a. I got mine for $88 each, and they handle much better than the Falkens I have which I paid $130 each for.

ive looked into the yoko's before and they dont make a size compareable. same with the kumho's, they make a 255/50/17 but its too small. ive also looked at the bf goodrich scorchers cuz they make them the exact size, but ive heard mixed reviews on them. i like the falkens but my only concern is that i heard they are noisy at highway speeds. dont know if its true, thats why i was looking for some input.

I just got Dunlop sp5000's and they are actually very good tires. Good traction on dry and wet, and they ran around 157 a piece. The tread looks pretty mean as well. They are very quiet and the ride is very smooth so far. I have only had them for a week so I can't tell you about wear. They are spec'ed at 340 though i think. Hope that helps. Oh they were 275/55/17's. If you would like pics drop me an email.

UHHH< Then you better let Kumho know that they need to change the mold for the tires I have on my truck and all the other vehicles running the 255/55/17 Kumho ECSTA 711's. The Falkens aren't very noisy at highway speeds. I have them on the rear of my truck now.

ahhhh, my bad, i was looking at the new light truck tires kumho has. how do you find the 711's on your truck?
shouldnt i be going with a light truck tire rather then the passenger tire? arent the load ratings different for each?

smitty, thx i will look into those as well.

I have a R/T which came with all season high perfrmance car tires on it. I don't haul anything wth my truck, and don't tow with it so am not really concerne with load ratings. Besides, the R/T only has a 2000lb towing capacity. Discount Tire can get the Kumho 711's. Don't let them tell you differntly. If not, let me know. I can get them for $88 each from my local America's Tire(Discoutn Tire) store.
