Subject: Mystery part IP: Logged
Message: On my 2001 quad I found a part that I don't know what it does or why its there. It is a round shaft that seems to run between the frame rails right behind the rear bumper. It is mounted in some large rubber mounts and is very loose when you grab it. Look at your trucks and see if you have this part. Any ideas?

Message: Mine has it too. Only thing I can figure is that
it's some sort of tuned spring-mass-damper system
to absorb vibration. Not much else in
functionality that I can gather.

Message: I looked at my truck also. All I can think of is that it helps add torsional support to the frame.
