 Subject: Which Warranty?

All right, I bought by 2001 Dakota last June. I have seen ads recently about Dodge's 7yr/70000 mile warranty. Does my truck have this? What is the difference between the 3/36000mi. warranty you are always hearing about? May be a stupid question, but I have been wondering recently.

Don't think so Bill, unless they were advertising it in the time frame when you bought your truck. I think the 7/70 is non-transferable and only covers the drivetrain with a deductible involved, don't quote me though, LOL.

Yeah, I'm not sure either John. I think my truck has something covered under the 7/70000. I think the 3/36 covers just about everything under the sun, but the other one is just drivetrain stuff. I guess I will go out tomorrow morning and read the warranty book!

Ok now I'm confused. I bought my truck in November of 2001 and they said it was a 7yr/100,000 mile warranty!?

I think you may be right about the mileage quad. I may be wrong now that you mention it. But I would still like to know (if I don't have the same thing as you) how they can extend the warranty by 4 years and 60000 miles in 1 model year!!! I am going to look in my warranty book today to see what I have.

I bought my truck on November 11. It has the bumper to bumper 3 year 36k mile warranty. Also the 7 year 70k mile powertrain warranty. Driving about 1k miles a month I've got it made..!

I checked this morning and I have both warranties. It has the 3/36 bumper to bumper and the 7/100,000 powertrain warranty. I guess now they are just using the 7/100 as a marketing gimmick and making more of a deal of it.

I bought my 2001 to early to get the 7/70 but at this point it doesn't matter to much as it is 18 months old with 65k on it and I will be putting about 5 k amonth for the next 4 months.

I turned 13,000 miles yesterday. I will have it a year in July!!!! By that time I am expecting to have well over 20,000 miles. Beginning in May, I will be putting a 1000 miles a week on it!

Sorry to add to the confusion..but....
I picked up my on 9-11 (boy did I feel bad getting a new toy that day!), but at that time I was told I have the 3/36000mi. warranty. I was 'told' the $2500 cash back (what I got),,,was replaced and is equivalent to the 7/100000mi warranty.
Now they are offering both! $2500, and 7/100000mi. warranty for new truck purchases. I feel screwed!
----My question. Did they extend this warranty to everyone? Or at least everyone who purchased an '01 Dak prior to the promotion? Or has it always been available,,,and they are just advertising it now like someone said?

I would go out and look through the warranty book that came with your truck. That will tell you exactly what you have covered on your truck. I haven't looked through mine yet, but I am almost positive I remember reading in it that bumper to bumber was 3/36 and drivetrain was 7/100.
