1999 CLUB CAB This truck is really starting to get the better of me. I recently noticed the passenger side floor fills up with water. anybody know of this problem or had it happen to them. I looked in previous message boards but there is nothing to informative. It is leaking in through a little hole in the formend metal piece down from the left of the door speaker but not in the door in the actual cab part. Is there any possible drain holes or passages that could be cloged and if so where? Please help

It sounds like it may be the air conditioner. The coil is located right in front of the passenger side in the firewall. If the drain from the coil becomes clogged it will leak on the passenger side floor.

FYI - a leaky heater core smells like anti-freeze, so it's pretty easy to figure out if that's the problem.

Found out what it was this is very interesting. I determined that the water was coming in from under the hood down along the back of the wheel well. Now normally it appears that the water would run down through a small joint under the truck (lower cab body panel behind the wheel well. However in my case a leaf decided it would take the same route as the water, causing a water damn in my truck all dakota owners should pay attention to this as it has the potential of making a real mess in your truck. A very simple fix but what a major pain in the...... well you get the picture.

Yeah, that is strange. One leaf can flood your truck. Maybe stick some screening or something down there so it don't happen again, something to trap the leaves so they can't get into that area. Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone know if that's true for a 92 Dak? I have noticed the same thing on mine at times but it's only when it's bee raining quite a bit and usually if the truck is parked on a hill nose down.

My '95 does this. I took the cowling off (between hood and windshield) and cleaned out a bunch of crap in there, leaves etc. I put screening over the vent slots on top and it still does this, though not as bad. I ran a rod down the drain vent on the side by the passenger door/wheelwell.

I'm to the point of blocking off the right side vent under the cowling, since it's all open space under there anyway.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thansk
