I wanted to know if anyone had any experience in ordering a Dakota at the dealer/online, if they got any rebates and what prices compared to MSRP. Also good/bad experiences and anything to watch out for. Thanks.

I negotiated my 2002 4x4 Quad Cab to invoice price + rebates + $500 of the dealer holdback + the $500 farm beareu rebate.

Ordered at dealer...paid 200 over invoice less rebates. Don't forget to ask if there is a Farm Bureau rebate available!!! Took about 6 weeks to arrive at dealer. They taught me everything I needed to know about the truck before I left the lot and gave me a free oil change. There was a small scratch by the driver's door on delivery. They tried to buff it out but it was deep enough they were afraid to go any further w/o damaging the paint. The scratch was hardly noticeable after they worked on it, but you could still see it if you knew it was there. They agree to compensate me by tinting all the window for free in lieu of repainting the whole fender and trying to match the clear coat perfectly.

Ordered mine at the end of Dec '01 at the dealer. I opted for the zero% financing instead of the rebate. I paid $200 over invoice. I wish I had known about the Farm Bureau rebate at that time...

Took me 8 weeks as expected for delivery. Dealt with a fleet buyer so there was no haggling and they ordered exactly what I wanted without trying to work a deal with one on the lot.

I ordered mine on 2/13/02 and picked it up on 3/15/02. $200 over invoice.
