Message:
I want to remove the dakota sport emblems from my 94.

When I take them off I know the paint isn't going to match because underneath the emblem the paint has been covered from the elements.

My question is: Is there any product out there or anything I can do to match the color so you'll never know there was an emblem there? (without painting)

Thanks for any help.

If the paint has faded, you are S.O.L...but 8 years under the emblem....you are prolly better off getting a paint job...There maybe something out there for you, but you would have to keep reapplying it when the stuff washes off.....

So i guess when i take the "dodge and 4x4" off of mytailgate i'd probably have the same eh? ive had the truck 4 1/2 years now and am going to remove them to put racing stripes on. Maybe after i do that i should put them back on where they were (and over top of the racing stripes) to hide the "fresher" coloured paint?

That might work, though you would need a completely new set of decals cause you will tear them apart getting it off....

oh definately..even if i could get them off in one piece im sure they'd "curl" around the edges.I'll probably have to take them off with lighter fluid, a hairdryer and a razorblade. I should be able to get them from the dealership no? or as a last resort one of the ebayers there has a "complete" sticker set for the daks...although im sure the quality just isn't the same.

Anyone know any other good ways to take the stickers off?

I took mine off of my other Dak with a hair dryer and my finger nail. Other people have used nail polish remover. DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE!!!!! You might scratch the paint. Your finger nail should do, or a soft putty knife, but definitely not a razor.

Dont mean to flame but...
If you guys did a freakin search i just cleared
up this issue with the removal of my decals.
I used turtle wax "color cure" car polish. You
cant even tell. My truck is black. In the sun it
looked bad!

And a hair dryer will work fine, no need for chemicals or razor blades.
