Subject: High back cap for Quad Cab
IP: Logged

Message:

Hi all! I have a 2002 4.7L Quad Cab and I'm looking for a cap for it. It has to be a high back cap though so I can fit my ATV in the back. The regular cab high caps are too low. I've been told that nobody makes a high back for the Quad Cab because it doesn't look good since the bed is so short. Is that true? I hope not. If it is I'll have to go with a torneau cover and just remove it when I need to load up the ATV. I am also a drummer so I transport my drums in the bed, otherwise I wouldn't put anything on it because the ATV doesn't really need to be covered during transport, but the drums do.

That is my dillema.

thanks!

Try the ARE Site (www.4are.com)

They do have taller caps available for the dakota.

Is this tall enough ?

I have seen a Quad with a pretty high cap on it.

It was aluminum and it was UUUUGGggLLLLYYY!!!

The front edge of the cap was quite flat and it looked like it would catch a whole bunch of air.

Maybe he made it, but it looked factory.

If I see it again I will try to find out more info.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies!

After I posted my question I stumbled across the A.R.E website. Yes, the A.R.E MX series would probably do the job. I also found out that Jeraco makes one similar to the A.R.E that would probably work. They're both in the same price range $900-$950.

Any comments on quality, Jeraco vs. A.R.E.?

thanks,
-kamran
