 Subject: MP Cold Air kit for 2000 Dak 3.9?

The MP Cold Air Kit fits 97-99 DAKs with the 3.9 V-6, but supposedly doesn't fit a 2000 Dak V-6. My guess is that it'll fit with minor tweaking, but I'd rather check with someone in the know before I buy it. My truck is a 2000 Dak CC 4x4 with a 3.9V6, 5-spd, no A/C, no cruise ctl. What do you guys think... will it fit without too much trouble? I know others (QuickD, etc) will fit, but they are not CARB exempt like the MP one and I want to make sure I'm not in for a hassle on the next inspection.

dude.... you don't have to worry about this mod. real easy!!! just do the installation and make a small U hole on the heat sheild so you can put the cruise control through. thats all. real simple. if you have any problems let me know. glad to help a fellow member.

I suspected that installing a MP Cold Air kit shouldn't be too bad (even though it's not listed to fit on a 2000 Dak), but I figured I'd run it by the board first. As usual, the board members come through... thanks guys!

My K&N gen-II will be coming from summit within the next few days. I hope the thing fits ok. I have cruise control and ac on a 2000 cc V6.
My question is with the "but they are not CARB exempt like the MP" comment. Does the K&N (same as mopar from what I know- just different sticker) share this CARB exemption as well?

The MP Cold Air kit and Gen-II are about the same from what I understand, so the Gen-II should be CARB exempt as well. Greg, I'm scrambling trying to get my old Mopar ready for spring, so you might even get your Cold Air kit installed before me... I'll keep you posted though.
