So I am driving home and this hispanic guy in a C5 Blue Corvette pulls up next to me. I know I am gonna lose, but its cool. So he is staring at me and we both start revving our engines. I took him off the line, then he ripped me a new as_hole. It was so sad. That thing was so fast. So Duner can beat those, wow must be a great feeling.

Anyone have a 2WD 2002 Dakota they want to trade for a 4WD DAk? Seriously thinkin about the RC 2WD 4.7L. It would save me money and with a little forced induction maybe I could inflict some fear into Corvette owners. hmmmm?

I was kinda wishin I had the AWD instead of the part time 4wd. Remember the GM Typhoon? You imagine, an AWD 4.7L w/ 3.92's. and have dunners motor, wow that would be awesome

I have the AWD with 3.55 and LSD. I have never chirped a tire dispite a few WOT launches. Power goes directly to motion. I wonder what the potential is with a few "tweaks" here and there!?! I suspect 3.92's and a little more hp would be pretty impressive.

I think the weight would be our major disadvantage. They need to work on extremely light weight 4x4 components. After driving 6 hours today I think i might take off the lift and put stock tires on her again. Just hate the gas mileage. And for those of you who say 3.55 is alright with 33's, you obviously dont live at 6,000-7,000 feet. Its dog slow. Oh well, I still love my Dak.

IMO 33s need at least 4.10s. But that is a personal perference. I love 3.92s with this truck.

The vette should pick on someone his own size. Its like you racing a Geo Metro 3 cyl. Don't feel bad, be happy you got the jump. It would be hard to beat a C5 in a Dakota without some seriose $$ modifications, even then it would need to run ~13.2 in the 1/4 to stay with a STOCK C5 (non Z06)

If you wan't a fast truck, go for the lightning. Those are pretty quick. I've raced a few with my old 99 camaro SS. I ran a 13.33, the lightning w/chip and 300#+ driver ran a 13.34. I played catch up the whole time as he got a whole shot from hell.

There is always someone faster.

But after that I just started thinkin about ways to go faster. The lifted look is great, but speed is addicting.

Don't feel to bad, i went up against a saleen mustang today. I knew from the 3" duels he was going to take me along with the other mods, but t turned out pretty close. Much closer than the race between me and a viper venom gts.

Dammit, I'm still bummed that my only kill was making an Integra driver realize that he sucks at cornering.

... thought I let a friend take my Dak for a drive and he found an S-10 extreme.
