Subject: New 2001 Quad Cab Question

Hey Fellas,

My name is Mario and I've been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks now learning about the Dakotas. Thanks for all the insight. I've just brought home a new white 2001 quad cab 3.9 V6 4x2. I totally love it!! OK, now for the newbie question. My quad has the tire and handling group, but I noticed it still sits a little lower than the equally equipped 4x4s. What do the 4x4s have installed that makes them taller and can I get this added to mine? Sorry for this lame duck question but I've lived a sheltered life. :-)

The 4x4 package has 31" tires and more ground clearance.

You can try larger tires to fill the wheel wells or get a Fabtech lift for the 2wds. Go to Bernd's web site, he has a Fabtech lift.

Mario,

Sence you are looking at the quad cab I am guessing you are compairing to full sized trucks. Well Ground clearance is no better with those trucks. But the body does sit higher than the Dakota. Don't ask me why the quad cab is rated a full sized truck and the club cab is a mid sized truck. The quad cab is still a mid sized to me. I would go with a full sized truck if it were me. You can get a 3/4 ton truck for the same price. More truck for the money. And that priceing is going off the Utah dealers. They get a little more here from what I understand. Due to the Truck market here. I don't know I could be out in left feild. That is what I have noticed tho.
