 Subject: Bike Rack on QC?

Hey all.. I've got a 2001 QC and I'm looking to know how other have done bike racks on their trucks. I have been just chucking it in the back, but as I'm getting a new ($$$) bike, I really need a way to be able to lock it down. Who makes decent racks for not too much cash?

I would suggest a bike rack that connects to the
hitch if you have one installed.

I have a hitch mount that I used on my old S-10 Blazer(POS)- havent had the oppurtunity to use it on my Dakota yet! But I really like it- "I like it alot!" Found their prices hard to beat!

I have the exact same one in my QC bed and
its perfect. If you put it all the way up front you
can close the back tailgate. I think you can get
locking scewers for it.

No there is no drilling. You adjust it to close to
the size of the bed and ten pump it till it
expands tight against the sides of the bed.
You can also use it to hold things in place. Its
like a cargo holder.

ok, I figured out how I'm going to d it after seeing a similiar installation this weekend. I ordered a couple of the locking bolt on mounts from truckperformace.com. The QC Daks have tie down loops in the frontof the bed that are bolted in w/ two bolts each. Remove these, slip in an "L" bracket and reattach the tie downs w/ longer bolts. Then run a bar across to the other side, and put the bike mounts in the middle. Viola! Insta bike rack, for about $50 total.
Thansk for the help guys! Now I just have to do it..
