They are getting fewer and farther between, but it depends on what side of Stone Mountain you grew up on..... Gwinnett or DeKalb.
The meeting around the water cooler is sad but waaay true.

Fulton 6 at Roberts and Spalding. It's off Ga. 400. You know, the Alpharetta autobahn :-}
Believe it or not but the busiest day is Sunday. I dont know why, but we get slammed with Medical calls all day. Lots of Elderly problems, and folks trying to squeeze the most into their weekends keeps us busy.
Saturday nights the Fulton P.D. keep us busy on assaultcalls and drunk driving accidents.
In between, we have the non-stop fire alarms and the occasional "smoke showing" that sometimes turns out to be a structure fire.
Anyway, I live in sugarhill close to Forsyth Co. and supposedly they used to have the Klan garbage up here, but thankfully I havent noticed any in the 4 years I've lived here.

Yeah, Forsyth County got a REALLY ugly rep when ol' Hosea Williams held a march into downtown Cumming and the white trash showed up (not to just wave Confederate flags and yell) to actually THROW ROCKS at the marchers. This was in the mid 1990's. Holy BeJeezus. It was like 1965 all over again.
Alpharetta and Cumming have only just recently become the "place to move." Back before Ga 400 went north of Haynes Bridge, it was pretty much a scene from Deliverance all the way up to Lake Lanier and beyond. Eeeeesh.
Well, good for you saving lives. Very noble. And at least it's not down in South Fulton......
I was at Commerce last weekend.... I was headed up there this weekend, but it looks like rain. I think I'll do my taxes so I can buy a PCM flash with the refund.

I remember that March. It was on TV. Really sad.
I'm a native, and as much as we complain about the traffic and sprawl , I still think the Metro Atl. area has grown up a lot. MAN this town sure has changed!
Thanks for the kind words and good luck with youre taxes. Dont spend it all in one place!
BTW, 400 is being widened through Alpharetta to help relieve that bottleneck.

28. Bldg Inspector. Within the next month I should have my new 70mm TB & IAT adjutster, along with the 50 ser flowmaster, and homebrew ram-air (through fog light holes) I ready have. Then I get to turn my 11 month old daughter's car seat around, and then we will have some Real fun.

Downtown Decatur is where it's at. Once I get home from work, I can pretty much go to the grocery store, any bar and any restaurant all on foot. No parking worries whatsoever. There's a brand new Taco Mac up the hill from me with like 30 TV's on the wall, so watching things like the Super Bowl and March Madness are completely awesome. Huge projection screens, huge baskets of wings, huge amounts of beer, a huge tab and then a small WALK (stagger) home.... Plus I can be in Virginia Highlands in about 10 minutes. It's pretty much a nice replacement for "The Pedestrian Life" that I had in Athens.
The 1-hour drive home from Commerce is kinda sucky at 11pm on a Friday nite, though. That's where I still wish I was in Athens. Heh.

Dude, youre making me hungry! I agree, being able to hoof it places is nice. Up here in suburban hell you have to fight traffic and psychotic soccer moms in huge SUV's to get anywhere then you have to wait in line forever with all the "new rich" yuppsters who complain about the wait!
I used to date a girl who went to Athens and i spent a lot of time up there. It was great. O'Malleys was cool. that was 10 years ago though.
Anyway 24hrs of cleaning up the wrecks of impatient, rude, road raging North Fulton housewifes has got me beat. Time for bed.

Earlier i posted just my age. I feel its important now that I think about it to say that I am 17 and I pay for my truck, the gas that goes in it, and all of the insurance payments ( which aint cheap since its an r/t) I dunno why but I kinda pride myself on this since i know very few people like me when it comes to paying for everything you have at a young age. All this is funded by Toyota, where I work as a porter parking your cars when ya bring em' in. Wish i were at Dodge though, but they are never hiring. If anyone knows a dodge dealer hiring for a high school kid, in the dallas area, let me know.

Thats pretty cool drtswinger. I will admit I dont make every payment on my truck, but i do make as many as I can afford. It is difficult being a college student and trying to pay for things. It does feel really good when I send my check in, thats for sure. I just wish Waiting tables was more profitable.
I bet youre truck is pretty fast with the powerdyne. Any numbers in the 1/4? If I didnt live in a snowy climate I would definetly have a 2wd rocket dakota, but what can you do.

I'm 19, college student at Ball State University, studying entrepreneurship to own a Harley Dealership and possibly a performance shop just for our daks! I paid for my truck with some investment cash and paid all the bills until I graduated HS, I took a summer off and accidentially blew ALL of my grad money on my truck. I detail cars and do odds and ends around town for extra $$, right now my dad is taking care of my insurance but all of my accessories come from my birthday christmas $$$. I have a friend Waightstill Avery, Retire Marine Corps. Retired at like 21 because he was shot during a during an excersize. Awesome guy, carried the olympic torch like a month ago.

Yea, after high school I'm wanting to go into some courses that teach about self employment also. Working for somebody else just isn't what I have in mind. I wouldn't mind starting a speed shop here in the Dallas area, but my friends are all to afraid of doing something that bold. I want to make a shop with people who know what they are talking about, have the products you need, and can install them to. A shop like that would be great here, all of the other performance shops are either for old cars, or f-bodies. If someone would figure out that there is a huge market for this ( the fast and the furious kids) right now, then there woul be some big bucks to be made at it. I at 17 and fresh outta high school in may just dont have the capital or experience to do such a thing. But i do know what my generation wants, and if it were provided, you would have people flowing in like crazy. I am currently looking for buisness partners at the moment :) heh yea right! anyways, let me know what you think.

The best way to learn about self employment is to dive in. I owned my own Harley shop in Miami for some years and my own business in Atlanta now.
I wish you luck on that, there is nothing like being in charge of your own fate and no having a boss. I never was any good at taking orders, so my own thing was the logical choice.

I had also thought of going and getting into one of those technical schools after normal college graduation so if I can pull off getting my own shop I can do some of the dirty work myself until I can get some good employees. We have one Harley shop within 50 miles of here and no performance shops I usually find out what I need on here and go to Advance Autoparts and get it by part #. Makes me look smart though, at least to the Advance people.

i just want to say good job! there are so many little rich kid craps where i live and work (not far from you). i myself bought my last car when i was 17 and traded it in and purchased my dak when i was 18. Makes ya feel all warm and goey inside to have such responsibilities! And i love it when i kick some rich kids @ss even though his mommy and daddy bought him every mod on his wish list... my favorite around here is a 35th anniversary camaro. stupid 17 year old already got dad to by new wheels, exhaust, headers, intake, and nos... probably more than that. (now i did not race and beat that car, just an example of how money is no object when it comes to people's kids around here)

Yeah... I dont like the whole "being told what to do" thing either... but at any rate, I still have another year and a half in the Marine Corps at the age of 21. Driving my R/T is my only releif from work and school... btw, I hate rain... that's the only reason the track here will close... f'ing rain... Pic of me doing a burnout in my profile (he took the picture too early, otherwise you'd see a lot more smoke and a lot less of my truck.. hehe)

Yea, there is nothing more annoying than those rich kids running around with nothing to do, no job, and they have the nicest car along with new clothes all the time.... come to think of it, I bet they dont even own a washer and dryer. sad. anyways, I have heard that diving in is the best way to learn. Anyone know of good ways to finance a starting buisness? let me know, cause thats the only part that seems of real obstical right now. thanks.

Hey oetkenjc, I go on vacation at Surf City NC every year for a week. I also have a friend who was stationed at Camp Lejeune (sp?) for a while, then he was station in Cal until he was accidentally shot during an excersize. You guys still have those Ospreys hiddin in hangars on base?
