 Subject: loose control arms

1999 dak club cab 5.2 auto . What is going on here? I have had nothing but troble with the front end in my dakota I have replaced ball joints ( done by dealer ) but I have to keep tightning the front nut on the left upper control arm where its attatched to the frame. This is the source of all my mysterious front end noise because after its tight all the popping,grinding, and clunkin noises go away. This is driving me crazy please help if you know ho to remedy this problem.

Sounds like the nut is bad, remove and replace with a nut that has the nylon lock washer built into it, or put a lock washer under the nut,to keep it from vibrating loose. I would replace the nut and use a lock washer also.
