Subject: Keeping Canopy Window Clean
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a leer canopy on my 89, and when it rains, it always gets incredibly dirty and becomes impossible to see through while I am driving. I can't figure out a way to keep the rear window clear. I have tried Rain-X, but it doesn't work for very long. Aside from washing and Rain-Xing the window every time I drive in the rain, is there anything I can do to keep it clean? Do they make wipers for canopy windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have been using my sideview mirrors. I would just like to be able to see out the back too :)

How 'bout one of those Air Dam thing-a-majigs to blow the air down the back while in motion?

I think what bearhit said will work. I have a canopy on my dakota and have the same problem. My brother has a canopy on his truck and he put a fin on the top/back of it and it greatly reduced the amount of road grime on it. I'm gonna try it.

I've heard that those rear 'air-dam-a-magigs' work well also on the rear window.

without the air dam-a-majig, the rear window is in sort of like A vacuum, or like an Eddie in A river. it collects dirt (worse when the window is wet). The air dam-A-majig will redirect the air coming from the top of the truck down across the window, blowing the dirt away from the window.

Thanks for the idea! Anyone know where you could get one of those things?

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an air-dam-a-magig store to open, LOL.

They might have them at the place where you got your canopy also.
