Subject: Billet Gas Cap/Door
IP: Logged

Message:
In "Truckin'" magazine i saw a gas cap on a PT Cruiser that looked just like one from a sport bike or like the one the new Eclipses. I went to the APC site but could not find it. Any ideas if this i feasible on a Dakota and where one can be found?

Thanks
Geoff

Yes it could be done.In order to do it you have to first find a gas cap you want to use off of a bike or anything else. Then you need to weld your filler door shut using small welds from one side to the other so as not to distort the metal. then grind your weld down and either fill your area with a small layer of filler or make your hole to use the filler here and then glaze with putty. Primer and paint it and hook everything up. Lot of work but its a cool look.

NO, The thing i'm talking about is a bolt on type deal. Its made by APC i believe. I saw another type in the march '01 "Sport Truck" magazine it was one of the 100 new products. Itr said it was made by Goodrich and gave a web site of www.goodridge.net where i also could not find it
