Took delivery of my new 2002 Quad cab today.
I really think it is nice it is Patriot blue, 4.7,
full time 4 wheel drive, limited slip diff, sport plus. All the goodies except for leather and 4 wheel anti lock. The only problem is we have freezing rain and snow and my Dak got dirty on the way home. And this dak is going to sit for 2 months until the lease is up on my 2000 Dak.

Congrats on picking up your new Quad Cab.

You know, I kind of envy you. Your new Quad Cab will be sitting (inside a garage?) for two months. To me, that's reassuring because your new Quad won't even get dirty after you wash or wax it.

I just picked up my new Quad Cab last Saturday and it's already been two washes and waxing because of this horrible weather...

Congrats! I'm a new owner of a 2001 QC 4.7 4x4 . You're probably reading stuff on this site about broken this and fixing that. It's kind of scary. I just got out of a 1993 Nissan and only had to replace exhaust, shocks, tires and a front bumper in 9 years of Canadian driving. I'm hoping the bad news is like the television news. It's all bad because if everything is OK there's nothing to talk about. I mean who's going to write in and say "I just drove my truck to Texas and back and nothing happened." People write in to get advice when they have a problem, right guys?

I agree Canadak. About the only time I post is when I have a question about something that has bothered me about my truck. I absolutely love my Dakota. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Like any other car, it does have some problems, but nothing is perfect. More likely than not, you won't regret buying your Dakota, I know I haven't.

The wife made me sell my old 96 Sonoma. I allways loved the look of Dodge. Thought new wife, kids? what the heck get the Quad. Full size won't fit in the garage. I'm a contractor and tools only in back, with topper of course. Trailer for everything else. 4.7 all wheel drive and 3.92 trans.,4x4, Slt package, loaded. The rear end went out with 4500k they put in the bigger 9.25 to replace the 8.25. I love my truck and I promise never to look at another! Well only when she aint lookin.

I've had my Quad for just about a year now (2000 4X4 5.9) Runs great, no problems till now. The lock up converter isnt staying locked up at highway speeds. My baby is goin in to get a shift kit installed next week. Trans shop sez that'll fix the problem. Is it unusual to get 17 MPG out of a 5.9?
