WHo knows which pins to jump on the DRL connector?
I've had mine unplugged (moraly opposed to them) for some time, but the no hi-beam indicator is a bit annoying.
 Thanks.

Have you tried engaging the parking brake to the first tooth? (Enough to trip the parking brake engaged sensor, but not enough to actually engage the brakes). On many GM cars this will turn the DRLs off.

I am in the USA, I drive with my headlights on during the day. I've done this with every car I've owned ever since 1991.

It makes a noticeable difference in the number of people who pull right out in front of me.

Having the headlights on has decreased the number of people who pull out in front of me.

I know this because every once in a while, I'll forget to turn them on during the day and that is always when people pull right out in front of me.

I'm not sure what wiring changed from my truck (1996) to the 2001, but I had this problem in an indirect way.

my DRL Module blew out, and being part of the Hi-beam circuit, I lost my Hi-Beam indicator.(I tore my entire dash apart looking for the problem before I figured it out)

I fixed the problem by simply gutting the module (which was potted with silocon) and kept only the connector. I took an insulated wire, and soldered it between the #1, and #4 pins (Dimmer Hi-beam output, and Hi-beam indicator driver) After doing up an over-excessive tape job over the pins, I plugged it back into the truck...

Voila... no more DRL, and my blue Hi-Beam indicator in the dash works again.

DTRL are really a must on 2 lane hwy'some people don't even think twice when pulling into the incoming lane to pass around another car.

But when you just want your truck/car to idel then just turn them off by the E-brake before starting up.

My 1994 Dakota running lights don't use full power to the headlights, so they aren't as bright and don't use as much power,(They were factory installed). They don't go on right away, (you have to drive the truck about 15 or 20 feet). I would eliminate the DRL module, but loose the high beam indicator. I want ot install HID lights, they may be damaged by having partial voltage applied whenever the truck is driving. I will put in a jumper wire from #1 to Terminal #4 then let you know.

 Hello,
I have my DRL relay gone. I just installed new halo projector headlights, so I would like to have DRL to show the halo's. Would also like to get back my high beam indicator light; find it annoying not knowing during dust hours if they are on high or low? I have no intensions of paying $180.00 for a new one.
If I connected the #1 and #4, would this give me both, I would like to have both.

My 2004 Dodge Dakota did not come with DRL so I
added a kit from Grote, module 44060 which is now
obsolete and Grote does not make a replacement.
The 44060 is burned out and I would like to return
to having DRL on low beam at reduced voltage. Any
 suggestions out there is "space"?
