Last night, on my way home at 12:00, on my road, i hit a doe. i hit it in the neck and shoulder area with the rigth corner of my bumper. it slung around and hit my passenger door, and slung $hit all over my door, i didnt stop, just went on home since i was so close, and my fog light was knocked off, my bumper trim was knocked loose, and my pass. door is dented up at the bottom. I got an estimate, $973 worth of damage.i ripped its head off with my bumper, its guts are all in the road.

Well fortunately for you, you'll pay the $100 deductible and your insurance will pay the whole thing off and you'll get on with life. Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago on my way back from Pittsburgh Int’l Airport to the deep hills of "West By God," however, not as graphic as you described. He just slammed into the windshield and kind of bounced off. Scared the living ba-Jeezus out of all of us. BTW -- how do you know the damage you did to the beast at 12 a.m. when you didn't even stop (specifically the trauma to the neck and head area)? Did his relatives give you the results of post mortem? I had to stop for SIX deer in the middle of the road when I was coming home from picking up my new truck. I saw about another 4-5 on the sides of the road...this was only a 150 mile drive!
At least you didn't hit something large, like an Elk or Moose, they slam thru the windsheild and YOU would be the one gibbed.
Need more hunters.

well, i went back and loked at it this afternoon, i saw it right b4 i hit it, just infront of my truck, so i know about where i hit it at, the bodys in the ditch, guts in the road.

Last summer I went between 2 deer with my bike (Victory). I must have been less than 2 feet from each one. Hitting one with the truck sucks. Hitting one one a bike can be fatal.

Hit a hawk on my bike. Good thing it hit the bike and not me. I was doing about 70 at the time.

Yeah, I was on my way to work in deerborn michagin and it was still dark out when all of a sudden a deer ran out in front of me in my truck. I though oh hel and hit the brakes, it was too late, that dam deer hit my truck and flipped over the widsheild and coincidently landed in the bed of the truck. So I took off work that day and went and had it dressed it was a good 150lbs of meat. Hel it landed in the bed of the truck so i thought of it as a sign that i needed to keep it for some good eating. mmmmmm was it good! Anyways, I thought I would share this story with you guys just for laughs.

I was driving home from work about 5 years ago at about 4:30 AM when The biggest deer I have ever seen in my life leaped out in front of me on a major Hwy here in the heart of Minneapolis MN. I punched the brakes but there was no time and he was way to close to avoid. I broadsided the dear, this bucks belly ended where my hood began “BIG DEER” It flipped over my truck and leaving only the front clip damaged. This deer was a 14 point buck and looked the size of a moose “I kid you not” I had to call two other friends just to help my lift this monster into the truck it came in at just over 400LBS and took 3rd in the deer classic “non-hunting”. The best thing is lest than 5 LBS of meat was wasted by the accident. I had the head mounted just because of its size. It’s a sh@ty way to get a deer being an avid hunter but I knew I would never see another deer that size. Be fore we processed it I had my pic taken with it. I put my bow in the horns and posed with it ”like I shot it with my bow”. Than I took my front license plate off my truck and put the in the horns and posed with it. :-P I have both pics enlarged and framed next to the deer head at my house. J

I've hit two deer, both at 5-10MPH impact speed. They seemed a little peeved (hey, watch where I'm going!) Neither was hurt, though in my Grand Prix a small plastic piece in one of my headlight adjustment screws was broken and the hood had a slight turndown which actually looked pretty good (if the other side were the same that is).

i hit a deer with my dakota over memorial weekend
killed it and it flew a good 50 feet from the impact
id take pictures and would have started a thread
but the only thing it did was break my blinker

I hit a yearling doe about 5 weeks ago at 65 mph and damage was to the tune of $3500 and almost two weeks in the shop. Bumper, grill, hood, ac condensor, drivers side headlight assy and radiator all had to be replaced.
