Subject: new dakota question

i just ordered my new dakota its a black regular cab sport plus it has the 4.7, 5 speed man, 3.92 anti spin and is 2wd. what will my truck do in the quarter mile out of the box? i live in southern wis im not quite sure of the altitude here. What exhaust will give me more performance im not too concearned about sound just performance, any other cheapy ad ons that will give me more power? THANKS

With the right traction you should be able to do around 15 secs or so in the 1/4mile. If you get an exhaust you should get an intake at the same time. With the 4.7l you will lose performance if you just do exhaust. I've heard as far as price and quality goes to just get a flowmaster installed in place if the existing muffler. I'm holding out for the JBA cat back. That'll set me back quite a few dollars though.

From what I have read about a 15 flat out of the box. It has been winter since I bought this one so I don't know what it will do.

2001 RC 4.7 5sp 9.25" 3.92 LSD
Ported throttle body, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" cold air, roadmaster active suspention

What more do you want to know? There are probably a dozen different exhaust systems, more than half a dozen intakes, throttle bodies, a few electical add-ons, and lots of suspension. Go to truckperformance.com and speedtweaks.net. Those are a good start.
