Firstly great forum, nice to be able to chat and find out info .
1) How do you rate the 5.9 R/T package as a whole?
not taking into account the gas mileage.
2) Does any body know if this truck is available in that "tangerine" orange color?
3) any information is greatly appreciated. If there is anything you think I should be aware of please don't hold back.
Many thanks

I bought mine last summer and noticed a couple of things that you may want to consider:

This is not a typical truck and should really be compared to a sports car. Not a lot of room, can't haul or tow big loads, and the ride is a little stiff. If your looking to take the family across america then consider a full size truck. If your looking to have a lot of fun then go for it. I still have an old Ford to do the dirty work so this truck works out great for me.

Thanks for the advice, My wife has the SUV for family stuff this is just for belting around Dallas and to and from work.
How is the space in the rear seating, I understand it's not huge but suitable for 4 adults on a short jurney?
Thanks again

If your wanting the R/T for some fun but aren't in a rush to get one I'd wait till 2003 they're supposed to be coming out w/ the 5.7 Hemi in the Dakotas around 330HP compared to the 5.9's 250HP. I have a 2001 R/T Dakota and I'm gonna trade mine in for a Hemi when they come out.

The back seat is O.K. for kids, there is very little leg room with the seats back, which is about average with almost any small truck.
