Question, I have 2001 QC 4.7 auto. Stock Goodyears on it now. Want to go to a wider tire, stock tire is P255 65 R16, Would going to something like a P285 be a mistake, or a good idea. I would like something that looks a bit wider and provides more traction and better performance. I dont really want to go to a lower profile, like 50's, 60's might be ok though, I just dont think the 50's look good on a 16 inch wheel.

why don't you put on the 4x4 size? 265/70r16 It is a little wider and taller.

If you want some good traction tires try some 275/60-16's. I think thats the size. The brand is scorpion. They hook up very well from what I understand.

sorry, the 295/55-16 might be too wide for the 16x8" wheel
