Who knows how to remove the lenses of these lights? I've tried gently persuading them from all sides with a screwdriver, but no success.

It feels like I'm about to break something. Nothing in the owners manual for JUST THESE lights. Grrrrr......

I don't think you can remove just the lenses for these lights unless you remove the whole overhead console.

Removing the console is fairly easy. Just remove the one screw in front and gently, but firmly pull down the back. When it comes loose, disconnect the light wires. You can then flip the console over and take out the screws for the light "cup" which will give access to the bulbs as well as the back side of the lenses.

Here's a pic of the console as soon as I removed it. It's reversed in the photo and the right side is actually the front.

Thanks, Chuck..... that's kinda what I thought. DC ought to put the info in the owner's manual.

Funny, though, how the headliner/roof light lens simply pops out (without having to remove the entire headliner.

All this just for purple bulbs......

Do you have a bulb number for those bulbs? if so do they come in red.. It would be nice to have a light that didn't ruin ur nite vision..

I figure I would ask before I go tearing it apart to take out a bulb to go to the store to find that they don't make em..

I recently purchased a 2003 quad cab. It’s fully loaded but didn’t come with the elusive overhead computer. After reading most of the postings. I was able to obtain an overhead computer on Ebay. I’m interested in hardwiring the overhead computer. The only option in the computer that I am interested in is the compass and outside temperature sensor. The computer I have has four wires attached to it. I know that one wire is the constant power, the second is ground and the third is the ignition power. I’m not sure what the forth is I’m assuming it the Outside temp reading. I got the compass to work but cant figure out how to get the outside temp to work. My truck came with a senor for outside temp. The senor has two wire going into it. How can I hardwire my over head computer so that my outside temp works. Also does anybody know what PCI bus stands for, and were can I find it in my truck. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Augie, that fourth wire is for the vehicle bus. (I would reccomend tapping into these four wires off of the back of the radio as it should be labelled). That is where the comp/temp module gets the temperature sensor information. The temperature sensor itself connects to one of the other modules in the vehicle, which one, I am unsure of. You would need to look that information up in a service manual. Hope this helps.
