 Subject: Anyone wanna trade Daks?

I am looking for a new project and was wondering if anyone was interested in trading Dakotas. Here is what I am looking for:
HAS to have a 5.2 or 4.7
like to have a manual tranny
NEEDS to be a Quad cab or Ext cab.
Willing to trade straight for a quad cab 4.7 stick.
Below is a link to pics and mods. There is over $20,000 in this baby. All it needs left to be a show winner is interior and engine dress up. Flames are vinyl and can be taken off.

Hey guys -- lighten up. The guy asked a legit question. He probably scourges around for folks interested in trading and customizes. I for one personally wouldn't be caught dead in a Dakota that looks like his -- but some of you (and he) might not want to be caught dead in a Solar Yellow one like I have. You all really need to lighten up. This is a bad*ss truck. Some of you are just rednecks and don't no anything about the custom truck scene. This truck is easily worth $20,000 like the man says. Did you take the time to even look at the truck. I guess its a Cali thing. P.S. if I had a stock v8 dakota I would trade him in a second.

yeah redneck, thats a laugh. I like SOME custom trucks too but i would never trade my much newer truck for one. if anything ill just do it to my own. its just kindof hard to drop 4x4's. also i dont see any qc 4.7 owners lining up to trade with him. oh and about the redneck long island is similar to cali except its colder and the people have more annoying accents ;-) you want rednecks ull have to go to the raised daks formum....or the south

Hey us southern folk resent that! lol
And dont think that just because someone drives a lowered truck that they live in Cali...I for one do and I am on the oppsite coast...And I know guys that drive raised trucks that are not rednecks..
Dont forget that this a DAKOTA forum not only dakotas that you like. There are many different angles in which one can customize his truck and he took the more extreme route. Me personally after going to many car and truck shows, I think his truck is pretty nice compared to others out there, now its not my personally taste but again it isn't my truck.

anyway smokindak your truck is pretty cool, i wouldnt mind having it(although it looked better w/o the cap) but it still a 97 3.9 rc and your asking for a qc. its just not a fair trade.
I'm jealous of the airshocks for sure, but not the 3.9(i've got one too unfortuatly) and not the lack of 4wd(its alot of fun). I just think ur offer is unreasonable.
I LIKE UR TRUCK OK, but ur a moron if u think anyone is gonna part with a QC 4.7 for it. and if i had 2wd mine would be lowered too ;-)

Impressive truck. Looks like some great custom work. As nice and custom as it is, I'd have a much smaller audience when it came time to sell, though. Resale on aftermarket equipment is tougher than resale on a newer 'stock' vehicle with a v8. But I'm sure you already know that.
Smokindakota, did you put in an aftermarket power window kit? One of the pics showed the switches and they seemed like they might be aftermarket. If so, could you give me some details on the installation and where you bought it? If they're stock, I guess you won't have anything to say. :-)

The power windows are Electric Lite. I installed them myself. They are pretty simple to install. I don't remember how much I paid for them, probably around $150-200.
BlackDak - I didn't expect anyone to go for this trade but thought it would be interesting to see the response and maybe, just maybe there would be someone out there. BTW, it doesn't have to be a quad cab, I would have taken an extended cab as well.

And its not just a Cali thing bagged and customized trucks are everywhere. Smokin Dakota why don't you post it for sale or trade on Streetsourcemag.com. Well I know steve ( smokindakota) I met him through a friend of mine Ed Halterman. Both Steve and Ed are really nice guys. And Ill tell you what. Steves truck was looking good when i first saw it. We went to L.A.C.R. together one night. I have a 2000 Dakota 4x4. it was one of the first 4.7 on the road. we took it to the drag strip and anyway his truck is not as slow as you guys think. He kept up to me and OH my at one point he beat me pretty good cause I fell asleep at the light but I never caught him the other time we left at the same time he kept up no problem. I havent seen him or his truck lately, but its not as you guys seem to think it is. If you ahvent seen it in person then you shoudnt be slinging crap. I know Im new on this forum, but Im not really worried about that right now. if you look at the time and $$ spent in the truck you may think differently. Yeah were in southern california, but so what. lowered trucks are nothing new here or anywhere
anyway just wanted to let you guys know that
