Today I was told that my Ball Joints and Tie Rods were severely worn and needed replacement...

Is this a "warranty" item? I have an extended warranty, but right now I guess I'm scared of what the dealer is gonna say... since they are always trying to "get into my pocket".

Anyone out there know about these?

These are fairly common items to wear out. If you have bigger than stock tires get them off.

Nope... I got stock sized tires. I just hope that these are covered under warranty.

I just got back from the dealer (after hitting a dog). I hit it going @70mph. It actually bent my inner tie rod!! On the '01 You can't replace just the inner tie rod but instead the entire rack and pinion!! Right around 900 dollars for parts and labor! He also busted my valance which is another 400 dollars for parts and labor. Yes it was a large dog....

Oh, sorry about youre truck.

I assume It was death on impact?

good thing you didnt wipe out. I had a friend who totaled his Chevy trying to swerve out of the way of a squirrel. No big loss.
