I just bought a 2002 CC with the 4.7L V8 and auto tranny. So far I would have to say that I love it. Before this I had a 2001 GMC Sonoma and had nothing but trouble with that. I had the GMC in the shop over 6 times in the first 4 months that I had it, because of this it fell under the Lemon Law (although it was a pain to follow).
As for right now, I would have to say go with the Dakota. So far I love it, and have the feeling that I will continue to do so.

I'm going to get a Dak, but am just curious about how the reliability is. I know nothing is perfect and that you'll hear more people gripe about a product then you'll hear say good things about it.
Problem now is I'm not 100% sure if I should go with a 4.7L or the 5.9!
