Ok guys

Went and looked at my first used Dakota today, and here are the details:

2001 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 SLT
5.9
auto
full power
tilt/cruise
bedliner
overhead convenience
3.55 gearing
rear window defog
P235/7/R15 tires
split bench seat
Am/FM cassette (no CD)
11,500 miles

This truck must have been custom ordered new because how many quad cabs do you see out there with only the small tires, no limited slip, and no CD player or buckets.

So the dealer is asking $19970 for the truck which seems like a good deal. One thing I am wondering about is the tire/handling package. Does that only include larger tires and rims and fender flares? Is there anything added to the suspension? If there is nothing added to the suspension, then I would have no problems finding someone's stock 16" rims and tires to put on. I figure the larger tires would help with grip more because of the 5.9 probably giving those tires a ride for their money!

How much less towing do I loose with the 3.55 gears?

Do you guys think this is a good deal? I am probably going to have to move sort of quick if I want this truck. It is going to be my wife's truck. She won't drive my lifted 97 Cherokee (I don't blame her). But this truck would be used to tow our camper and stuff for the house.

The tire and handling group also has a rear stabilizer bar. Go to www.4adodge.com and you can find out the towing specs. go to kbb.com, or www.edmunds.com for a price on your truck
