 Subject: Shop manuels

I have a 2001 5.9 QC and am thinking I may want to get a shop manuel.
About how much do they cost and is Dodge the best/only place to order them?
Are they written so that a moderately experienced person can trouble shoot and make repairs?
Could there be a web site that has the manuel on line?

You can get them through the dealership ($90), but they also have them on ebay all the time. That's where I got mine ($70). The manual is excellent, clearly written with very good illustrations. (It's also huge)

And yes, the manual is very helpful and easy to follow. They also sell specialized manuals such as chassis and body (I don't know about 2001 yet) which go more in depth.
You can also look into getting a Haynes manual. I am getting ready to do some front end work and to be honest I found the service manual lacking in ways. I picked up a Haynes manual and the front end section was extremely helpful.
In any case, yes you should get a servive manual. It has helped me immensely with the customization that I've done.

Shop Manuels are at a premium right now, I don't think they're worth it. Plus they will steal all your tools, leave the floor dirty and request chorizo every morning. I have had better luck with Shop Juans.
