Subject: 2001 16" rims/tires FOR SALE
IP: Logged

Message:
OK, it's official... I'm selling the factory alloys to help offset the bucket 'O money that I just paid for my new rims, tires, and suspension.

The rims (16x8) are in fantastic condition - no dings or scratches, cleaned at LEAST every week.

The tires (Goodyear Eagle LS 255/65/16) have around 8,000 miles - with a rotation @ 5,000.

The price for all is $400.00 (sorry, NOT willing to sell rims OR tires seperate). Local buyers (Southern Calif.) are encouraged, but I'd be willing to ship 'em for what it costs (I'll supply the packaging).

I'm gonna put 'em on eBay pretty soon, but I figured that I'd give y'all a chance first.

Drat - and I was just in LA last week!
I have been wanting a set of 16s, but I'm
having trouble finding good street tires for
them that give me a 28" diameter or so. Also, I
would need all 5 to keep the spare the same
size for safety. Unfortunately, I don't have the
3.55 and have to try to keep it close to my
stock diameter.
Let me know if you let go of all 5. I work for
Sierra On-Line, a computer game company -
wanna talk trading games for wheels?

I can look into finding another spare, but of course an addition wheel would push the price up 20% to $500.00.

Darrell, I'll have to call ya from home tomorrow.

Are you interested in four or five rims/tires? I wasn't planning on selling my spare, so the price for all five would be $500.00 (or $400.00 for four).

Please be aware that the cost to ship these will be pretty high. If you send me your Zip code, I can weigh one of these and estimate the actual cost (ups.com). Figure the boxes @ 30" x 30" x 15".

I'm not looking to profit from shipping or packaging, so I need to include in the total price only the actual shipping amount.

Just a note, talk to UPS, I don't think any packaging is necessary, just an address tag wired on. I got a used trailer hitch sent that way from UPS. I also think it's less expensive to send them individually. I work for the USPS and we can do this as well, but once you start talking about 60# packages, UPS beats our prices. Our website www.usps.com can give you a price if you know the demisions, weight, and zip codes. 75# is our limit so they would have to go individually.

Thanks, Hersbird... didn't know that was possible. I'd be just a little concerned, though.. what would protect the finish (front) of the rims from being damaged?

I'll look into it anyway, and ultimately it ought to be up to the buyer to decide if they want the packaging or not.

I have a suggestion. I'm not interested in the tires, only the four rims. I would prefer if the wheels were boxed. Maybe you can find some used wheel boxes @ a tire/wheel retailer. The tires may have some value ($15 to $25 each). Can we apply this to shipping? The shipping from most wheel sellers run about $40 for set of four. I'll pay the $400 for the set minus tires and shipping cost. What do you think? Call me and we can discuss the details.
Darrell
