I am interested in buying a new 2002 Dakota to replace my 1998...anyone heard any good or bad things about the new ones? What kind of price should I be looking for in a 2002 Dak SLT 4X4, 4.7L? Anyone have any suggestions on the options that are a must to get? Thanks for your help!!

Well, Compared to the pre 2000s, the newer ones interiors aren't as nice and the heater/AC system isn't as good. The cup holders are now useless. Also with the 2002 you get the stupid shift level brake pedal interlock for those idiots that leave their kids in the trucks unattended.

Are there gonna be any big chages for the 2003 model year? i can hold out for another year, but i primarily want to get the 0% financing and no payments for 90 days...think the promotion will hold out for a year?

what's with the engine choices? why did they remove the 5.9 and 5.2? Now we only have a 3.9 and 4.7 for our Dak's...what's with that???

I read that the last time the major car companies offered 0% financing was 1980. That's what motivated me to buy a new 2002 QC. 4.7 auto 4x4. Love it so far.

I had a 99 and sold it and got a 2002. I like the interior better on this new one. Just checked 4adodge.com 0% until jan 8 2002. The 4.7 replaced the 5.2 because it is the new engine that is for all of d/c trucks. The 3.9 is going to be replaced by a 3.7 with a lot more power. I think that their logic is more power from a smaller engine= better gas mileage. Plus, "everyone else is doing it!"

what is the cupholder location in the 2002 daks? In my 2000 they are down by the seats (almost on the floor) in front of the console

Hey nbfdexp901 just an fyi... the 0% financing is for 3 years so if you have a 26,000 truck divide the total by 36 and look at the numbers (722.222)/month and that's w/o tax sure paid off in 3 years is nice but almost $750/ month (OUCH)

Clevite, that is exactly it...i can only handle a $350/mo payment...NO way I can do $700...I am only 17 and in high school still...there is a company that is now offering 0% for 60 months, but i forgot who it is...hopefully dodge will follow suit and do that...then i would be able to do it. well, thank you all for your help!!

One is on the drivers side, upper left to the stick, and the other is directly behind the stick, so no super tankers here, and with sobe bottles you get a *ting* when you're shifting.

I have an automatic and bucket seats. along with the 0% is also 4.9% for 5 years which is what I have. $512 a month for a fully loaded 4.7 4x4 slt plus. I think it is isuzu with the 0% for 5 years.
