Subject: What should I get?

I know I have said this before but now I am serious. My truck has too many things wrong with it and I have decided to get a new truck next year. Here is a run down of what it needs:shocks($125), exhaust($300), oxygen sensor($60),waterpump($125), battery($80),t-case rear seal($?), upper and lower ball joints($?). These are just the problems I am ware of now. Its a 93 4x4 Dakota with 318 and auto tranny. Just put new tires on it so thats a plus I guess. I am seriously thinking of another Dakota only a new one. I like chrome so I am thinking it will be the SLT package. I am going for the V8 with an auto. Please tell me of the most common prblems with these trucks.

Let's not forget about the ball joints/alignment. My truck's just a few months old, but I can already see that my tires won't make it very long. 6,000 miles (already rotated and aligned) and they're half worn. Guess I'll wait another couple of months, then take it in for a warranty repair.

Don't worry about learning to drive a stick, I bought my truck as a stick and I have never owned one before! I just drove other people's, like my dad's to take loads to the city dump, etc. It takes but two days or so and you know how to do it. If you need more help I'm sure you can find someone within those 5 weeks it takes to get your vehicle in to teach you or find something online -- good ole Google.

Xplikt, I am seething in envy! Not only do you have an'02 you've got it loaded with the SLT+ AND LSD, in patriot blue! ARRGH! If I only knew then what I know now (I probably wouldn't have gotten the $2500 rebate for taking this thing off the lot).

This could be a movie of the week, "Dr Q, The Making of a Gearhead" .
