I am new to this website and have a question that perhaps SOMEONE can help me with. I have a 2000 Dakota Sport 4x2, 3.9 V6. I have had the front brake rotors replaced twice and turned once. Dodge is not willing to stand behind the brake work and its now costing me out of pocket. The truck only has 20,000 miles and is treated like a baby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

My 2001 has hard braking on the right side but
little on the left side. I can tell this due to the
excssive amounts of dust on the right. Any
suggs?

TEAMFAST,

Check the outside pads on both calipers and verify that the little stabilizing arm is underneath the metal thing right next to it instead of in front or on top (I wish I could tell you the name of the metal thing, but I have no clue, and have never worked on this design before my dak). My truck went through pads on the right side faster than the left one time. I noticed that the brake pad stabilizing arm was not aligned correctly. Now I always make sure it is and I have had no problems.

Stainless steel brakes, look them up on the net. That is the name of the company. Get your rotors there, not from Mopar. I think Raybestos sells rotors as well and have heard good things about them.

I have a 2001 4x4 Sport and I am having the same problem. I have tryed to find aftermarket rotors, but for some reason, they are not available yet. Does anyone know if rotors for a 2000 are the same for the '01 models? Thanks for the information...
