Subject: Shifting from Park to Drive or Reverse

I have a 2001 QC (now 8000 miles on it) and ever since I bought it, it makes this load clunking noise when I shift to or from Park to Reverse or Drive. It sounds awful and like something is going to come off. My dealer says its "Normal". Is this true? Any suggestions would be helpful.

(Ready to go back to Fords!)

Don't jump ship just yet. My '01 CC made similar noises. Turned out to be a muffler clamp in the wrong location creating a loose conection between the exhaust pipe and muffler. That may not be your problem but it could be something equally simple.
