 Subject: 4.7L noise from air box

hi folks. couple of quick questions, first
off, the info...im looking at buying an 04
dakota, quad cab with the 4.7l. the guy
said it needs work but runs and drives
fine. when i asked he said, and i quote,
"theres a popping sound coming from the
air box, and it has a slight miss." he
also said he tested compression and leak
down test were all good. any clue as to
what the noise could be? thanks alot

just a follow up, the body and interior
are in superb shape. not sure about the
usual stuff, brakes, front end stuff but
says its all good. now he only wants $1000
for it. does that sound a bit cheap? is
the noise possibly something major with
the motor? any input or opinions would be
greatly appriciated. thanks alot.
