I have a 95 Dakota...When you hit the brake pedal it sounds like air is leaking somewhere when the brakes are applied...The truck will stop but on a quick stop, you cant lock them up...Also when you push on the brake pedal the engine rpms go up...Help!

Vacuum booster is leaking.

I'd plan on the master cylinder - typically (but
not always!) what has happened is that the MC is
leaking into the vacuum booster and it rots out
the rubber. You may be lucky, though.

RockAuto has both parts from various vendors. I
like ACDelco myself, but your mileage may vary of
course.

If you order a master cylinder, I'd be sure to
order it with the reservoir.

And if you do change the MC out, I like the Harbor
Freight #92924 brake bleeder (search for it, I
can't post a link here.)
