Subject: replacing 3.9 on a 98' dakota

Message:
I scored a great deal on a 98' dakota with a locked up 3.9. I
found a used motor with 140k miles. I figured with the
motor on the stand I would give it a good tune up like plugs
wires, timing set, water pump. I guess im just looking for any
tips or pointers before I tackle the swap. Il using masking
tape and lable all connections. Im planning on leaving the
tranny in do you recommend this or would it be easier to
pull them both.
thanks,
Ryan

Unless money is really tight, I'd rebuild it with
some performance enhancements. Of course as it
stands, at 140k, you could easily get another 100k
out of it if it was treated properly.
