 Subject: Dodge Letters on Tailgate, Replaceable?

I have a blue '98 Dakota 2wd v6. The Dodge letters on the tailgate are really scratched, chipped, pitted, etc. They aren't decals, look more like actual pieces attached to the tailgate (almost like bicycle reflector material).
I was wondering if these can be removed and replaced. My dad has a 2000 silver Dakota 2wd v8, his Dodge tailgate letters are more of a black decal.
I'm thinking about getting black letters for my Dakota as well, as they will match a set of black Bushwacker street fender flares that will be used to cover some door ding rust spots in the near future.
