what will a 90 dakots with a unplugged map sensor do. what kind of things will go wrong? intrument cluster gauges transmission act up. what?

Nothing to do with the gauges. If you unplug the vacuum line, you get a code 13 and Check Engine light. If you unplug the electrical connector, you get a code 14 and Check Engine light. In both cases, the computer goes into limp-in mode and uses a default fuel-air ratio that will hurt gas mileage and power. What is the issue with your MAP sensor?

It would help if you provide more info. What engine and transmission, and what are the symptoms? And check fault codes first:

i do have another thread about the transmission and electric problems. since no one has answered that question yet. i wanted to find out about this one part. since it has been replaced and it didnt fix anything that answered my question about if it was the problem. well i guess it wasnt the problem. so back to my transmission thread that has all the information in it. could it be a front pump?
