 Subject: Questions about a 1999 Dodge Dakota

Alright so last summer my grandpa gave me his 1999 Dodge
Dakota RWD with the 3.9L V6 45,000 original miles, It's an auto.
I just put 4 new wheels and tires on it, went from 15" and 215s
to 16" (the SXT rims) and 235s. my speedo is about 10 MPH off,
(used a gps to tell me what my real speed was and the cop who
caught me doing 85 in a 65 was pleased to tell me as well). i
know i need to take it to my local dodge dealer but does anyone
know how much they would usually charge to reacalibrate it?
Also i have two trouble codes currently, One is a P0420 and the
other is P0720, does anyone know what these are and how i fix
them or how much it would cost to get fixed at the dealer?

P0420 is "catalytic converter efficiency."
PO720 is "low output speed sensor rpm above 15 mph"
Both will set the CEL.
The converter is probably going to be the expensive
fix.

I believe Dan00Dak means that both/ either of those codes will cause the Check Engine Light to come on/illuminate.
If it was my truck, I would reset the PCM and see if those same codes come up. The P0420 could be just the post-cat O2 sensor. The P0720 is probably from the change in tire diameter.
You went from 215/75/15 to 265/75/16. That's a 27.7" tall tire to a 31.6" tall tire. About 14% difference. I bet your mileage sucks too.

months. I think the p0420 has been there since I replaced my
muffler but I'm not sure. And my milage has always sucked.
Usually lucky to get 14-15mpg

You can probably find an aftermarket catcon for around 100 bucks. The P0720 could just be the RWSS(rear wheel speed sensor).

Ok when I am driving my truck and I get
between 10 to 15 mph my truck will start
putting but once it gets past 15mph it drives like
new I just want to figure out what is wrong with
it
