My problem is squeaking front end. It's unbearable to say the least. I've read many posts about the stabilizer end links. I have purchased a set of MOOGs (with grease fittings) part #K750263 $35 each. What type of lubricant should I use on the upper bushings of the new end links??? Silicone? white litium? belt dressing? .....something about not using petroleum-based lubes on poly?? How do you tell the difference from poly and/or rubber?

I was going to tackle this job today but I think I've discovered another problem after jacking up the front end and did more investigation. It sounds like it's coming from the Lower Ball Joint. So I grabbed the tire and tried to rock it side to side.....no movement.

Then tried up and down. I have about 1/2 inch play in it. The mechanic down the street told me it definately sounds like the Lower Ball Joint. Cost for him to do the job would be $210- for parts plus $150 in labor.....In my past experience with mechanics, I can double those prices after wheel alignment and any other bullcrap that comes up.

So I'm going to try to repair this one myself as well. Amazon.com had the best price ($44 each) for lower BJ's. (MOOG K80605) Does anyone know what BJ removal tool I should purchase?.....what size "receiver tube" with the removal tool?

Has any one else had a problem with their front ends? Ball joints or otherwise??? From what I've read, the gen2 Daks had horrible problems with all this. Are you telling me that Dodge din't resolve these issues with the Gen3's. It makes me wnder if I somehow have an early 2005 with left over gen2 suspension parts????

Thanks so much for any feedback/advise.

It does sound like a bad lower ball joint. On the
gen 2 daks it was the uppers, my 2000 was covered,
but not the lowers. I have 98k on the lowers and
they're still tight, the uppers, replaced with
Moogs at 25k.

Before you buy a ball joint tool, check your local
parts store. Some, like Advance, will "rent" you
the tool. Basically you're buying it and they
give you the money back when you return it. It
will come with all the size cups that you need.

If the stabilizer link bushings are OEM they are
most likely rubber.

Hope it helps.
