I had the same problem with the tranny 'pushing' me when I came to a stop (01 Dak, 360, auto), took it to the dealer and they said it needed a govenor. They replaced the govenor, made me pay to have the tranny fluid & filter replaced, and the problem is gone. BUTTTTT.... Now it shifts hard going to into 4th (or overdrive, they're the same, right?), but only when if I'm accelerating UPHILL... What the Hell? Will take it back to the dealer and see if they can now fix something that was not broken before...

i have a 93 3.9 4x4 and the transmission is being a bitch. It has 80,000 thousand miles on it and i put a trans go shift kit in 6000 miles ago now it wont shift down into first when you put it to the floor. That isnt the worst part at about half throttle shifting from first to second it sounds like it scraping or grinding awful. It dont do it when its to the floor or barely any gas. could some one give me some ideas

The Push after a stop happens to me only when I have between 7/8s and 1/2 tank of fuel. It is the movement of the fuel from the rear of the tank to the front. there are opther forums on the site that address that issue.

However does anyone have a issue where the trans feel like it slips first thing in the morning or after sitting for a few days ????? the trans feels like it is racing and the truck is moving slowly ?

Gary, I had the exact problem in my '01 4.7 CC 4x4 I took it in and the dealer replaced the "LR Pressure Switch" and that fixed the problem.

Gary,

I concur with the gas movement causing the truck to "nudge" slightly after coming to a stop. Mine exhibits this when the tank is approximately 3/4 full. Regarding the "racing" sound you are hearing, it's probably not your tranny, but your cooling fan clutch. The fan clutch could be temporarily engaged when you first start out after the truck has been sitting. This seems to be fairly common on the 4.7 Dakotas. My truck exhibits this occasionally, and lasts for a block or two before disengaging. If you search the board, there a plenty of posts about this.

Thanks to both of you guys that responded. I have to think it may be the LR pressure switch, because if it was just the fan the truck would move as it normally does, but there is definetly a racing and the truck is not going anywhere as fast as it should be !

I have the same problem...come to a complete stop and about .5 seconds after it "nudges" me. Full, half, empty tank...doesn't matter so it's certainly not that. The tech I talked to said to manually shift from Drive to 2nd and then to 1st to "re-program" the tranny's computer. I've done this a bunch of times with no results so I will be taking it in soon. I also heard another tech mention something about the tranny mounts?? but he didn't elaborate. Of course when I took the tech for a drive to try and explain it to him nothing happened. Any TSB's on this would be great since it's out of warranty.

Funny I just took my 2002 quad in for the same rear bumping at a stop, they replaced something in the trans. and the ball joints it was under warranty so I had to pay for fluid and dedutible. It also feels as if I anm Pulling an anchor when I accelerate after a stop, for like the first 5 seconds
