Glen C- yeh I'm in Missoula, I actually bought my yellow R/T from Tom Addison there in Coeur d'Alene. Next year I'd like to try and make some runs at Spokane raceway, do you know what night/day they do test and tune or bracket racing for street cars?

xplikt-awesome! I couldn't stand waiting another night if it were me. I should be in Kalispel a bunch next spring/summer so I'll look for you, problem is we usually use the Grand Caravan for road trips, but I my go fish the Blackfoot reservation in the R/T. If you plan any trips down here try to catch the Saturday night of Rock and Roll days, there are hunderds of cool cars crusing Higgins Ave.

Hey Glen, I haven't heard anything about your KB install. I looked on the board but didn't see any recent posts... How is it!!!!

I'm getting one soon, but it sounds like a PITA to install. I put in a turbo once (on a jeep) so I figured that this kit would have to be easier than that!? Was it worth the $$$...?

Hersbird-
I actually just email Spokane Raceway Park today, but i havent gotten a reply. I just asked them if and when they alow us regular folk to come out and break our trucks. You guys should think about going to the DakotaUSA national meet next April. Its a LONG drive, but im going to do my best to go, just cause its a once a year type of thing. Its in Madison, WI. Bout 1600 miles from me. I was thinkin that if enough people around here wanted to go, we could all meet up and caravan over. Yeah, i know its long, but i've talked to a few people in the chat room, and it seems like a good idea. I think it'd be worth it if enough people went.

TallQuad-
Well, lets just say this. OMG I LOVE IT! hehe. But the install was a HUGE pain in the @ss. But not much you can do about that. Maybe to a more experianced mechanic it would be easier. I guess it wasnt technical hard (internal combustion engine mechanics), just alot of steps. A few things seemed out of order in the manual, but thats just my opinon. With that said, the kit is very complete, only a few things didnt make any sence, but i got over those easly. One thing i dont like is how you have to mount the air filter behind the front bumper (behind the bumber, infront of the fender well skirt). NO more water runnin for me. But to thier defence, there really wasnt any other place to put it. I dont know if you seen the couple pictures i have, but i dont have any of the install (no digi cam). They are at:
http://204.227.180.205:81/dakota
Honestly, i think you could do the install in a couple days. It took me a week cause i dont have much time to work on it. But if you have all the tools and supplies on hand, i bet you could do it in two 8 hour days. Over all, its worth it. Now im just looking for any performance tips i can find for it, not many people have a KB on the 4.7. Whether or not it was worth the money is really up to you, most people say no, i say yes. But once you start spending that much to get HP, it doesnt really mater how much it costs or if it was worth it, but the bragging rights alone are worth it. Hehehe. Anyways, im gonna stop babbling cause i've been at work to long and wanna go home. If you have any questions, i'll be happy to answer them when i can think. :) Take care.

Thanks for the info Glen. I remember when I had my turbocharger in my Jeep Wrangler and thought, "every vehicle I own from now on will be supercharged or turbo'd!" I loved it that much!

I just got my 2002 QC so I'm waiting on some extra cashflow, but til then, I guess I'll just drool over your engine! Hehe...

BTW, do you have to run 92 octane or can you get away with 87 and 89?

You absolutly, positivly, with out a doubt HAVE to run 92 or BETTER. When accelerating hard, its starts to knock like no other, but the knock sensor does a good job of controling it and adjusting the timing and what not (at a cost of performance). I'd recommend 94 at or better. But i've always been really lucky and not had just knock. If you look at this pic: http://204.227.180.205:81/dakota/kennebell/kb4.jpg it actually says 92 or better. If i could i'd run 93, but i cant find any. If and when i do get to go the track, im droppin in some of the highest rated octane booster i can find (with in reason ya know). There are warnings all over the place about the octane rating.
When you do get around to buying one (just get an usecured loan, thats what i did), make sure that dodge hasnt changed anything in the engine bay. You might wanna double check with Kenne Bell to make sure. And if they havent had the chance to check out a 2002, wait. Trust me on that one. There where enough differences between the '00s and the '01s to piss me off to no end. But in the end, it all works and fits fine, just a little tighter in the '01s. When you find out it will work, GET IT! hehehe, you'll love it.

I'm going to go get it tomorrow (friday). ! :) !

"I should be in Kalispel a bunch next spring/summer so I'll look for you"

Heh, I do not think there is any other R/T, specially YELLOW, in the area, so you wont be hard to miss!

I do not go down there as much as I always used to. Most of the people I liked went to Bozeman or Helena after HS, and the people I could care less for went to Missoula...hah. Makes it easier, that's for sure! BTW, I'm getting snow tires and rims for a good deal at Big Mt. Tyre!

I havent had the time nor the money to get a custom flash for it. KB says that it doesn need one (even tho they do recommend it) to operate. I might have exagerated a little, the detonation really starts around 4500-5000 untill it shifts (its an auto). And its really not that bad, just a few lights. But thats probably because the knock sensor is correcting the problem. I do want to get a custom flash, but who would i go with? KB, Mike Leech, or KRC? Or anyone else? I just dont really have the money, and i cant afford the down time (this is my only means of transportation).

Glen why dont you try and go to the dealer and ask for the detonation retard flash that they do for some of the 4.7`s,basically it was a tsb for pinging and the update flash will retard the timing a bit it might just be perfect for your setup
