Subject: 01 QuadCab driveline hesitation

I have a 01 Quadcab 4.7L 2WD with 85,000 miles - has intermittent where the driveline hesitates when light throttle is pressed @ about 30MPH. If I press throttle harder and make tranny downshift the truck moves ahead smoothly. The tranny has
never towed or abused and was serviced @ 35K & 70K. seems to up/down shift with no problem. I am
beginning to suspect the LSD clutches in the rear end. A couple times the truck would not back up smoothly and when I gave it more throttle, it seemed to 'hook up' and I was able to back up a slight incline. Once in a great while when stopped at a red light, when I press the throttle to launch, nothing happens for a few moments and then I launch. Do these symptoms align with beginning clutch issue/imminent failure? The rear end lube has not been changed and I am the original owner. Will a simple fluid change with fresh friction mod solve the problem? Appreciate any help/explanation if you think I am looking in the right area. P.S. There are no codes being set for engine or tranny if that helps....

If the LSD clutches were worn out you would not have the problem you are having. You have a transmission problem, check the transmision fluid, and check for codes to see if anything on the trans comes up. there are a couple of electronic switches in the trans, but I don't know if they would cause the problem you are having.
Good Luck
