Subject: Hit and run, fender and steering issues

Message:
I have a 2000 QC Dakota that got hit and run a
couple nights ago and am looking for a driver side
front fender and possibly a bumper, will any 1997-
2004 fender fit? (I think thats years for the
rounded nose style (2nd gen?)) Were there any
changes to the fenders or bumpers between the
years? Any advice of where to look for the parts
either used or new, but the cheaper the better.
Obviously Craiglist and Pick n' Pull are good
options and I've found several fenders so far but
am holding out for a white one. Im in San Jose by
the way.

Also, the steering was a little rough turning
before the truck got hit but now it is very rough
and difficult, but only when turning to the right,
when I turn left it is smooth and easy, I'm
thinking that it is in the steering column and has
to do with the U-joints that allow for the tilting
steering wheel, any ideas? The steering wheel has
about 2 inches of play in it too between turning
left and right, which I attribute to the worn
steering column as well, the wheels don't wobble
when driving and all the steering components under
the hood seem to be tight(suggesting the play in
the steering is coming from between the steering
wheel and the parts under the hood that I can see,
but I'm not an expert). Anyone replace a steering
column or have had play in the steering wheel that
they corrected? Thanks

If it got hit hard enough to damage the bumper
there's a good chance it bent something in the front
end. (steering &/or suspension components)
