Hello,
I'm having lots of problems with the Dakota laity so hopefully some of you can help.

P1491- I believe this is a cooling fan failure. I have not seen the fan run, either at operating temp or with the AC switched on. The fuse is good. I switched the relay with a known working unit today, haven't tested it yet. What are the chances the fans burned up?

P0443- I believe this is a evap control valve failure. I started by replacing the gas cap, no luck. Is the evap control valve the device with the evap test cap on it? If it is, with the key on and the plug unhooked I have power at both terminals, 12v on one and about 5v on the other. Isn't one terminal supposed to be ground switched through the PCM? Is there a way to test the solenoid before I buy a new one? Which wire is positive?

ABS light- The ABS and brake light come on in the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile of driving and stay on until I shut the truck off. The speedo works like normal. Brake fluid is full. I tried replacing the sensor on the rear axle with no luck. Is there a way to test the sensor on the tranny before I buy a new one? Is there anything else that could be causing this?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Here's what your codes mean:

P1491 Radiator Fan Control Relay Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the radiator fan control relay circuit. This includes PWM solid state relays.

P0443 (M) Evap Purge Soleniod Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the EVAP purge solenoid control circuit.

P0455 or 0456 would be the cap problem you suggest.

Hmm, sudden rash of electrical problems, you have. Perhaps a disturbance under the hood, there was.

Thanks for the help.
I'm also starting to think I have a PCM or harness problem.
