My grandfather has a 2001 Dodge Dakota with power mirrors,
windows and door locks. He purchased the truck used without a
keychain remote and would like to enable keyless entry. I tried to
program a remote from my 1999 Dakota but it would not work.
The owner's manual provides the button sequence to program a
remote. Some remotes online claim to work with model years
1999-2001, and others from 2001-2004. From my review it
appears that the option group 'Power Convenience' bundles
power mirrors, windows and locks with keyless entry. Is there
any way I can verify that the vehicle supports keyless entry
before I buy a 01-04 remote? Thanks for your assistance.
