Hey guys,

Just wondering if a 285/60 tire mounted on a 17 x 9 RT rim would fit on a stock ride height 2wd 2003 dakota club cab.

Any input is much appreciated!!

Thanks. Graham

Hi Graham
While you're waiting on the fitment answer
Just remember a change in tire height
(if the new tires are taller or shorter)
has an effect on your overall final gear ratio

285/60-17 is 30x11.2x17

What size is original, and I can also tell you ratio change/speedo offset.

If your speedometer has been calibrated for 245/70-16 tires, replacing them with 285/60-17 tires wwill result in the speedometer reading being low by 3.15%.

To go 60MPH, put your speedo on 62.
When your speedo shows 60MPH, you're actually going 58.1 MPH.

After an indicated 10,000 miles on the odometer, you would actually have travelled 9,684 miles.

If you have 3.92:1 ratio gears, the slightly larger tires will give you the equivalent of 3.80:1 ratio.

There you go.
